About the sweat lodge:
The sweat lodge is a place of encounter, of power - an energetic meeting of the four elements, the four cardinal points. In the sweat lodge (Aztec: Temascal) we allow ourselves to be healed. The round shape of the hut made of willow branches and hazelnut rods gives the feeling of being in the womb of the mother. There is nothing to hide, to close, to pretend. We can let go of everything we no longer need. We will sit naked on the floor for four rounds: greeting the earth, water, air and fire. We invite the energies to flow through us and cleanse us. We get in deep contact with our inner selves. This requires everyone to be open and ready. New hot stones are added each round. The door opens, the stones come and it gets hotter and hotter. There are different ways of dealing with the heat. But one thing is clear: everyone dies a little death. And then you crawl out of your mother's womb on all fours - reborn.
You will accept life. When you were born, you accepted everything, but unconsciously. Now you consciously decide: I want to be alive, to consciously welcome it. Nature has to give a lot for the hut in the form of wood and stones, so make an effort too, put your pain into it.
Breathing is important, diaphragmatic breathing increases consciousness. This is called prana in the East, the breath we breathe in is called klejotl by the Aztecs.
Just this small change in your breathing takes your life in the direction you want it to go. Seven times in the morning and evening at the beginning is enough, then the body says: I want more.

About meI was able to experience my first sweat lodge in 1994 with the Wampanoak elder Manitonquat. A deep passion grew out of this very healing experience. In 2000 I completed a water pouring course with Hermann Strohmeier, who teaches both the Bear Tribe and Lakota traditions. I also have years of experience as a firekeeper with Wolfgang Peham (Bear Tribe tradition).
My work also incorporates influences from Mexico (Armando Cruz Sanchez), Peru (Inti Cesar Malasquez) and Chile (LuzClara) as well as my training in energetic healing work in the tradition of the Andean shamans. Since 2016 I have been the keeper of my own hut in my ceremonial garden.
