Slow Trail Information

Indian power place at the Bergfriedhütte :

A unique geomantic power place with the energy field and the water sources of the Mirnock can be found here at the Bergfriedhütte am Gschriet.

In addition to the beautiful view of Lake Millstatt, every hiker can utilise the tranquillity and energy of the place for meditation, yoga, breathing exercises and prayers to find harmony and peace within.

With the Healing knowledge and wisdom from shamans from North and South America have been using the "Mirnock guardian" with ancient Indian ceremonies in this tranquil place, the balanced energy fields of the Mirnock. The Mirnock is located exactly at the intersection of two power lines (leylines), the monastery line and the thermal line, where, according to a study by Dr Diethard Stelzl, the male and female energy fields complement each other perfectly.

The Indian power place is aligned exactly in the east-west axis from the mountain to the lake. Together with the Medicine wheel from several Stone circles the knowledge of the Lakota, Egyptians and Celts about various cosmic cycles (earth, sun, moon, planets), the Celtic annual cycle and the signs of the zodiac.

The Sweat lodge square with a semicircular dome made of hazelnut rods, a pipe altar, a fire place and a moon altar is used for Native American ceremonies. Healing ceremonies (sweat baths), fire and pipe rituals. The participants sit in a circle in the dome covered with blankets in the dark womb of the earth mother and are cleansed in the "Inipi ceremony" with healing songs, drums and rattles with the energy of the hot stones, applied herbs and the steam of the spring water. This ancient ceremony helps us to cleanse body, mind and soul, to let go of old and negative things, to become open to new realisations and visions, and to pray for inner peace for ourselves and others.

For the indigenous peoples, the sweat lodge was and is a kind of "Church in nature" to connect with the spirits and ancestors, to stay healthy, to heal the sick, to find one's own truth, to live in harmony with nature, to pray for oneself and others and to protect Mother Earth for the next seven generations.

We Mirnock guardians therefore ask hikers on the "Slow Trail" to visit the Indian power place with Respect for the "old knowledge" and to utilise the energies of the place for yourself.
